Our commitment
We want everyone to be able to use this website and enjoy the retreats we plan. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, and we treat accessibility problems as bugs to fix.
What we've done on this site
- Headings and page regions are marked up properly, and a "Skip to content" link appears on every page.
- Everything works with a keyboard. The destination gallery responds to arrow keys and has previous and next buttons. The itinerary tabs follow the standard ARIA tabs pattern. FAQ answers use native expand and collapse controls.
- Keyboard focus is clearly visible.
- Informative images have text alternatives. Decorative videos are hidden from screen readers, and none of them has sound.
- The background video has a pause button. Background video and scroll animations turn off when your device is set to reduce motion, and video loops don't load when Data Saver is on.
- Text can be zoomed to 200%, and the layout adapts to small screens.
- Every form field has a visible label, and form errors are announced in text, not by color alone.
- Nothing on the site has a time limit.
Known limitations
- The destination gallery scrolls sideways. If dragging or swiping is hard, use the arrow buttons or the keyboard.
- Some text sits on top of photos and video. We use dark overlays to keep it readable, but contrast can dip on certain video frames.
- This statement is based on our own review. The site hasn't had an independent accessibility audit yet.
Accessibility on our retreats
Tell us about any access needs early, in confidence, and we'll plan around them. For example, we can:
- shortlist venues with step-free access and accessible rooms, and check the details with the venue before you sign;
- offer a lower-intensity alternative for every activity, so no one is left out;
- brief caterers on dietary needs and allergies, and get written confirmation from them;
- build in quiet time and spaces, and share agendas and materials ahead of time in accessible formats.
Venues and vendors are independent businesses, so we confirm accessibility details with each one directly rather than relying on their marketing.
